Best Times to Perform Umrah: A Seasonal Guide

Best Times to Perform Umrah: A Seasonal Guide

Ramadan

Ramadan is the most spiritually significant time to perform Umrah, but it is also the busiest and most expensive period, with crowd levels at their highest, particularly in the final ten nights.

Winter Months

The months between November and February offer milder weather, making them a popular choice for pilgrims who prefer to avoid Makkah's intense summer heat, while crowd levels remain moderate outside of school holiday periods.

Summer Months

Summer tends to see fewer visitors due to the heat, which can mean shorter queues and more availability for accommodation and transport, though pilgrims should prepare for daytime temperatures that can exceed 40°C.

Choosing Based on Your Priorities

If avoiding crowds is the priority, the months just before or after Ramadan and outside major school holidays tend to be quieter. If comfort with weather matters more, winter is generally the preferred window.
